There was a planet in front of the moon this morning, Jupiter, I think. My Google sky maps isn’t working properly. In the picture on the right is the tip of a palm frond, in case you waere wondering.
I went diving yesterday pretty uneventful. But it was a nice dive Below are a few pics.
I oiled this old table with Teak Oil, also, it came out pretty good. And the wood really loves it. The stains are still visible through the oil. It was a lot of work, getting all the nooks and crannies. This table folds to half a table, a whole table or no table at all for storage! I also did some housecleaning.
It was a good, satisfying weekend. I don’t mind having to go back to work today.
I signed myself up for the 2023 Goodreads reading challenge. I am to read 15 books this year. I think I’m on 6, and I’m starting to have doubts about if I will make it. Master and Margarita was a very long book and took a long time to read, because of its complexity. Right now I am reading The Candy House and it seems like it is taking longer than it should.
I have to read faster, and shorter, easier books. Are you reading any books you think I’d like? Let me know!
i went to the doctor yesterday at the insistence of a co worker. I had a swollen ankle. Last week, during a dawg walk Daisy was attempting to attack her mortal enemy, the black dog across the street. I was holding her by her collar and she was lunging after him in front of me. I used my shin to push her out of the way and accidentally kicked her in the teeth.
Looks like a bite, but it’s not. Accidental if it is.
No big deal. Swollen ankle didn’t hurt and was fully flexible. i figured I dirt it without realizing it and it would get better by itself, but the dude at work put two and two together and insisted i check it out, so I did. I got an anti lockjaw (tetanus) shot and a weeks worth of antibiotics. It seems better this morning but probably would be getting better anyway.
Two years ago today the wife moved out. Two years ago last night was the last time I ever kissed my wife good night. I’ve come a long way since then.
I love my Kindle Scribe. I use it every day. BUT! A couple weeks or so ago,i got an actual email talking about a new firmware update. I’ve seen articles about it . But it’s not there on their website and it’s driving me nuts.
I’ve had the April update since April. That was way before the email and articles. I want the update that converts writing to text!
At least it’s not Monday. I was sleeping good when the alarm went off this morning. I am groggy and sore this morning. All my muscles hurt like i was lifting weights (but I wasn’t) My right ankle is swollen but i didn’t do anything to hurt it.
At least i don’t feel as bad as this kid!
Yesterday was a holiday day for the Kings Coronation.
I took a picture of the sunrise this morning and a bird flew by at just the right moment! I’m thrilled by this shot, it’s one of my favorite pictures I’ve ever taken! It looks like one of them professional pictures off the internet!
Happy Friday! We have a long weekend because of the Kings Coronation.. Monday is the holiday
On Amazon, i wish I could tell which sellers use USPS for shipping and which don’t. I would probably not order from merchants who use USPS. USPS is always late, and they seem to lie about delivery.
I use a fright forwarder in Miami, USPS (thru Amazon) messaged and says my package is delivered, it hasn’t been. The message says “your package was handed directly to Juan” ,and the fright forwarder has no employee named Juan. Once the message read something like “your package was delivered and handed directly to receptionist Michelle” and there is no employee named Michelle and the forwarding company was closed that day.
Then the item is in limbo. It’s gone. There’s no recourse. I may or may not get it. And this happens MORE than half the time. Once, i received a pair of shoes, delivered as reported, but that’s the exception.
The fright forwarder here has a big sign in the lobby that they won’t try to track any USPS packages.
Yup, i wouldn’t order from someone who used USPS,, if I could tell in advance.
Itsa Wednesday, I feel a calm, which isn’t bad, but the same calmness seems to be preventing me from coming up with a topic for today. It’s like I’m too lazy to stir the thought pot and nothing visible from here seems interesting. Maybe it’s simply NOT ENOUGH COFFEE YET! Maybe it’s Zen.
I haven’t been able to swim at lunchtime for the past two days. Monday the waves were hitting the wall and blasting 15 feet in the air. Yesterday was greatly impoved but still large swells not swimmable. Today should be the day!
There have been high clouds the past few days, and last night was cool and breezy. (Another nice night with no AC needed)
Everything looks clear on the horizon. No news is good news, don’t look a gift horse in the mouth, all’s well that ends well, etcetera etcetera amen.
I love this Garmin so far. Swim-able fitness tracker, dive computer Basically, with the app, you can install almost any programs on the watch you want. No touchscreen, but after getting used to it, I’m not missing it.. AND! the Samsung’s screens would go dark while swimming, due to the alleger water lock mode, i can look and see how far I’ve swam whilst I’m swimming! Genius! So I can measure my distance live without waiting till I get back to the phone to see how far I swam!
Love it!
Today would have been my 14th wedding anniversary.
