Improved Attitude

I’ve decided I’m going to improve my attitude. I have been becoming more aware of my negative thoughts and am able to reverse this process towards the positive.

What I’m talking about is an improvement at one level just one notch under the conscious level of normal awakeness. Improving the content of the brains background chatter..

I can do it. It will work.

have a good weekend!

Not As Planned

yesterday didn’t turn out at all like I expected it to. I found water dripping in the car park that was coming from the bathroom. I called the plumber and they had to fix a leak.

Crack in the carport ceiling where the water was coming out...

I got done with the plumber just in time to go to the dentist. I thought I was in pretty good shape dental wise, but apparently not. I got to work just in time to go to a meeting.

The the day went by, and I feel like I got very little done.

Now it’s November 1st already, I find that incredible. Every year is indeed getting shorter. Seems like.

Have a wonderful day, unless you’ve already made plans to do otherwise.

Listen Inside

pics from the weekend above.

It was a long, satisfying weekend . Friday was a nice dinner out, Saturday was an invigorating day with a very challenging yoga class and then beach. Sunday was the usual beach yoga and breakfast and then I came home to meet and introduce a new pet sitter to my dogs.

I thought it would be fine to spend a lazy afternoon at home, And it was. I read and took a nap. But later in the afternoon, I started getting a little antsy. I stayed home, but in hindsight, it would have been ok to change my plans and gone out, for a late lunch or maybe take the dogs to the beach.

I realized that it’s sometimes ok to change a plan, AND I learned that I have been somewhat inflexible, especially with myself (nobody else does what I want anyway! HaHa!). Once I make a decision or plan, I tend to not consider that I can change my mind….

Interesting minor revelation.

Happy Monday , have a fantastic week!

Good Daisy

On this morning’s walk, we encountered theee dog. He kind of headed the other way as soon as he saw us coming, barking in retreat. I stayed calm, telling Daisy “no barking, no pulling, good Daisy” and she was good. She seemed to politely observe him walking away.

Previously, I said he looked like a doberman / German Shepherd mix. On second glance, he’s just a brown mutt dog does not look like a doberman or a German shepherd. Just a West Bay dog. Not even as big as I thought.

Funny, isn’t it?

I’m not saying the problem is resolved between Daisy and the other dog, but today’s encounter was quite different than what was expected and previous encounters.

Yesterday at work was somewhat adventurous. A radio antenna on a vehicle broke and they needed a replacement. I have new radio kits with new antennas, but no spares. So after a few calls, I went and cannibalized one off an old fire truck.

It was fun. Above is me on an old truck and showing a newer truck.

Happy friday! Have a fantastic weekend!

Quiet Rainy Weekend

It was a very quiet weekend . Saturday afternoon was a workshop on meditative breathing and yoga pose alignment. It was quite interesting and seemed too short

During class, I felt like I had a feather in my throat. A tickley cough. By evening, it was a full blown sore throat. I went to bed before 7 on Saturday night and got up after 7 on Sunday. Sunday, it seemed to be a cold. Hopefully now I’m on te upswing from my first Cold in years

Im exhausted after a long, sleepless night.

Ba humbug

Losing Time

it seems lately that there’s not enough time in the mornings. My morning routine, as far as I know, hasn’t changed, but I seem to be about 10 or 15 minutes short on time in the mornings. I don’t know why. I’d hate to start waking up earlier, I already wake up at 5 till 5. I guess I could get up at 4:45, but I’d like to find out where I’m losing time and get it back somehow.

have a great day!

The Call Of The Cthulhu

I didn’t like it. But!

I thought Call of Cthulhu was the final book of the challenge… 16, because there was one I DNF (Did Not Finish) so I i lost count somehow.. The total this year is 17, not 18. So far!

And, another milestone

500 days of OM Meditation, standard is 6 minutes a day. 7 minutes a lot of time, never less than 5. Here’s to 500 more!

The tilers are tiling already this morning. They’re supposed to be done today, but who knows? The heat and sun have been more than they expected.

Have a great day!

Rainy Weekend

We had a lot of rain this weekend. Steady rain for hours and, very rare around these parts. I enjoyed it. People complained a lot, but I pointed out how rare this type of rain was, and they agreed.

Had some people over Saturday night, cooked on my new grill for the first time, (It’s probably been here 6 months, unused till this weekend)

Sunday I went to a party, Welcome back, summer is over, get them kids back to school party. A 10 month old baby girl had a crush on me.

And now it’s a sunny Monday back to work day.

Have a great week!

WiFi Without Internet

on my phone, and probably yours, there’s a Wi-Fi connection and a cellular data connection of your internet service.

What grinds my gears, is that if my phone is connected to a Wi-Fi signal, and there’s no internet on that Wi-Fi, then my phone won’t automatically use the cellular data connection to access the internet. The internetless Wi-Fi effectively prevents internet access.

I have to turn off the Wi-Fi to access the internet, and then remember to turn wi-fi back on again. Pain in thee butt.

And that’s my daily whining and moa ING for today!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Naturally Destructive

I’ve noticed over the years a certain lopsidedness in the fabric of our existence. Maybe a mistake God made when he put this place together. Maybe just my perception.

It takes humans months or years to build a building, but we have equipment that can destroy it in seconds. Bombs or buldozers. If you cut your finger, it takes days or weeks to heal, but the cut only took a millisecond to occur. The other day, my dog was using the corner of the wall to scratch an itch, only I could tell, she wasn’t going to stop. She would have eventually chewed up the whole wall had I not intervened.

It seems that we, the denizens of this planet, have a minute ability to do anything productive when compared to our vastly greater ability to damage or destroy.

If you hurt someone’s feelings, even if you apologize and sincerely meant no harm, there is injury and chances are you’ll hurt them again before the old wound has time to heal. These hurts accumulate and soon the healing is comparatively non existent. So many divorces.

When we feel good, we can remember what it’s like to feel bad, but when we feel bad, we cannot remember what it’s like to feel good. So many suicides.

A tree can take centuries to grow, but in a second, a bolt of lightning can splinter it to dust. Where’s the equal-but-opposite force in nature? Humans can nuke an ancient city to nothingness in a nanosecond. Where’s the equal-but-opposite characteristic in human ability?

This lopsidedness is leaning us way in the wrong way. The wrong direction. It’s too easy to damage and destroy and too difficult to create and repair. It’s a fundamental flaw in creation. Or maybe it’s just my perception.

Perhaps God could have done a lot better .
