First Game.

This weekend I played my first pickleball games. It was fun but i got my butt whooped. I’d shoot these high, arcing lobs into the sky and my opponent would fire back a bullet. I’d return the ball, easy target arc and he’d fire another bullet. He was standing in the middle of the court while I was running crazily back and forth and all over.

It was fun and I can’t wait to do it again!

Now it’s Monday . The thought crossed my mind to call in sick, but no.. Someone has to hold the planet together!

I am GLAD it’s the weekend. Every day this week has seemed like Friday.

My pickleball yesterday was cancelled, now it’s the next two Thursdays.

This is my last “Normal” weekend until the second weekend in March. I have visitors and events until then.

Today Goldie is going to the vets. He quit grooming himself like Ashy did. I’m not attributing it to dental this time.

Tomorrow morning is a 5K walk. (yes, walk, not run)

Addison is an impossibly young girl who committed suicide. This memorial for her is for awareness of mental health and abuse issues.

Late Late Friday

I was sound asleep and out cold when the alarm went off this morning. I can’t remember my dream but the alarm clock was part of it. I did my morning routine, including making breakfast and lunch (this morning instead of last night), and now I’m running late!

this weekend there’s a half mile swim, and a Sunday scuba dive. That’s all I know so far.

Back To Work 2023

Well, its back to work this morning. I’m looking forward to getting back to the routine

Yesterday was my 32nd birthday. I entered the program when I was 30, 32 years ago.

Surprising this morning, rain. It was wet when I went out for my morning exercise, but cloudlessly clear when I walked the dogs. Just now a 30 second, heavy rain shower passed by. Surprising. It’s good!

If you’re back to work for the first time this year, good luck Enjoy. Attitude is everything. It’s going to be a good day!

E.O.V. Blues

Well, I guess I got the End Of Vacation blues. Early next week, it’s back to work. We’re entering a normal holiday weekend and today is my last vacation day. The final Friday.

But im glad it’s the weekend, glad to be putting 2022 behind me and 2021 further behind me.2023 is going to be a great year!

This isn’t necessarily my last post of the year, but it might be, ya never know. The thought never occurred to me till just now.

No Mans Land

No Mans Land, the time between xmas and New Years. Historically, more people have asked me “what day is it today?” during this week than any other. I’ve already asked myself that very question this morning, counting on my fingers the days till I have to return to work.(7)

Also, interestingly, I heard a blurb on the BBC news this morning: more babies are conceived on this day (Boxing Day) than any other. Is your birthday in September? End of September?

And lastly, here the weather sucks. Howling wind. Driving cold rain, complete cloud cover. The Arctic storm that hit North America has parked here, and will be around until it dissapates. Yeay…

Lifes Greatest Mystery

I woke up this morning and began wondering if it was Saturday or Sunday. I brilliantly deduced that it must be Sunday. I got up and my devices told me it was FRIDAY!

Cool beans. Two more days off after today.

Things Named Artemis

NASA just launched a rocket called Artemis to the moon. It has an empty crew capsule, will orbit the moon, return to Earth, and splashdown into the Pacific. There’s an article for you to read HERE.

I am also reading a book entitled Artemis by Andy Weir, (who also wrote The Martian, which became a movie.)

I have been pretty much unable to put the book down since I started it a few days ago.

Artemis is (was?) a Greek goddess. She was very affiliated with the moon, as you can see HERE.

(Not sure if the above image is Artemis or Diana. I guess Diana is the Roman version of Artemis)

Anyway, it’s my Thursday off. It started POURING rain about sunrise strong winds and driving rain. I don’t know what’s going on weatherwise. But it doesn’t matter, I’m just going to be reading my book.
