Heading Home

I’m at Washington National Airport, I got here ridiculously early due to alleged delays at airport security. (There were none)

Turned in the rental car ok and at my gate.

Below is a picture up a tree that I took yesterday that I took while on a walk with my mom.

Looking forward to getting home.

Winter Me

This trip has been colder than I expected.

Here’s me in my cold weather gear. I’ve made that hat since the 1970’s

Also this trip, I had lunch with a very dear friend , Jennifer. We met when I was at Navy school, again, in the 1970’s.

Tomorrow I’m headed south to the Cayman Islands, home sweet home. I’ve heard it’s a nightmare getting through airport security, so I’ll be leaving extra early tomorrow.

Have a great day!

Artemis

I read this book quite quickly. In short it’s about a woman who lives at the first city on the moon

She’s a smuggler, and imports contraband. She gets involved in something way over her head involving mining, superconductors and organized crime

Im pretty sure I had read this book before but a lot of it seemed new

Irs a good blood, worth reading..

Have a good weekend!

Rainy Cloudy

its a rainy cloudy morning at my mom’s. I don’t really have plans for the day.

Last night I was dreaming/worrying about not being able to find the rental car return. I don’t leave for several days and it’s too early to worry about that. But try telling my sleeping brain.

No worries! All is good ! Have a great day!

Tahini

Below is a picture of my hosts dog, Tahini. Very friendly pooch.

I’m heading back up to my mothers today. Then it will almost be time to get ready to head back to Cayman.

Have a great day!

NC

Im down in North Carolina now. This is where I stayed after my eye surgery.

Not sure what’s in the plan for today. I’m going with the flow, multiple flows it looks like!

Its nice to be “part of”!

Book: Seven Years In Tibet

Version 1.0.0

I saw this movie years ago. I don’t really remember much of it. I don’t know what possessed me to read the book, but while I was reading, I was thinking that the movie would probably be better, because of the visualization.

About halfway through the book, it dawned on my dim little mind that this was a true story and the whole thing took on a new dimension

I’m going to watch the movie again now. Not right now, but in the near future…

The book left me kind of feeling sad . Countries are making things worse and have been for a long time. China wrecked Tttibet, The US and Russia wreck everything. The strong trample the weak and the goodness gets lost. The invaders vs the Aborigines all over the world.

it makes me sad. The good news, and it doesn’t seem too good, is before long, humans will be gone and the earth will reset. It’s a pity that that is a soothing thought.

Depressing. Is there anything good growing on this planet?

Tracking My Own Flight

Im in Maryland right now. Flew up here on Delta and had working wifi on the flight. I was able to track my own flight using FlightAware, an app I love.

Look closely at the picture above. I’m on that plane. Look even closer, see me waving at you?

Have a great week!

Summertime Half

Today we enter the summertime half of the year! The equinox is today! The sun passes into the northern hemisphere where most of us are.

in the image above it says Eastern standard Time, but the East Coast of the US is on daylight savings time. Do they mean 9:46 daylight savings Time? 8:46 Cayman Islands time? Or they mean what they say 9:46 Eastern standard Time. Which isOT daylight savings time.

you’d think these scientists could say what they mean

Happy Friday, have a good weekend!

just to clarify ,NOT DST.

Frightened Bird

The bird In my windowsill has not been sitting on her eggs in a long time. I think she was too scared by the proximity of the shower and the light on the other side of the screen, inches away.

Some other birds had built in nest in the palm tree by the driveway. I knew right away it wasn’t a good place to build a nest. The car brushes the branch as it goes in and out, the wind moves the branch excessively. I think the birds got the idea. The nest is there, but there’s no birds seen since construction.

I’m kind of disappointed, I didn’t think I would scare the bird in the window sill. In the US at work, once a bird built a nest in the windowsill right by my workbench, she sat there while they hatched and then I saw the birds all sitting in the tree and then they flew away. It took a couple months.

Happy Friday Eve!
