Damn Chickens!

I’ve always tried to feed the cats in the dark, or else I have to sit there and guard them from the chickens, you steal their food. Now it seems the chickens are living on the front porch. I walked out yesterday and they didn’t even run away, they stand there hopefully like “are you going to feed us now?”

Two of my neighbors feed the chickens. It’s slightly illegal. I find it very annoying as there are literally dozens of chickens in my yard. They drink the cat’s water and make a mess all over the porch. I think they actually stand in the water bowl and poop in the very water they’re drinking. Chickens are dirtier than pigs.

I’m considering getting a cage, trapping chickens, and haul them away to the other side of the island and let them go.

I know some of the chickens are like pets to the neighbors kids, high school age kids who should know what’s going on. I don’t know which chickens are which, and I don’t care. Sorry.

Happy Halloween!

Thursday After

All my friends in Jamaica seem to be OK after the storm. Bermuda is next and that should be it for Melissa

October 30th! October went by fast. In September, the first week seemed normal time, but October flew buy in minutes.

Theres supposed to be a cold front moving through This weekend, bringing rain..Hope not, I’d prefer to wait till next week for more rain.

have a great day!

Everybody OK

Everyone I keep in touch with in Jamaica has checked in and is ok.

Im hearing it wasn’t as bad as expected in Kingston, but worse than expected out in the country.

Now Melissa is over Cuba.

Hopefully, hurricane season will end early this year.

Worse Than Ivan

Hurricane Melissa hasn’t even made landfall in Jamaica and there’s already reports of 3 deaths and landslides. Melissa has been closely offshore for a week, pouring rain on Jamaica almost the whole time. Now it’s getting ready to move ashore, and the “real” rain is just getting ready to begin.

175 MPH sustained winds and moving only 2 Mike’s per hour. Melissa might grind Jamaica down to the sea.

I was in Kingston a couple years ago, I have many I consider good friends there. And I’m seriously worries about them.

Its going to be a long day and night for Jamaica and we who care.

Hang On Jamaica!

Melissa is now a category 5 hurricane if she stays on course, this will be a very rough week for Jamaica. One of the worst things is that the hurricane is moving so slowly. If it were just zip on by it would be bad enough, but to sit there and slowly grind the place down is just worse.

Here it was a pretty good weekend, I mowed the yard and raked up gravel. I tried to hire a lawn and cleaning landscaper to rake the gravel but they just quit showing up and returning calls. I guess it’s too much work for the landscaping company. So I’m doing it by myself, and it’s not so bad.

Have a good week!

Melissa, The Storm

Not looking good. The latest prediction shows in northward trend. That’s toward us!

Before this morning, it was increasingly headed south.

Im ready already, but not looking forward to a storm.

Have a good day!

Taking A Long Walk On A Short Pier.

My watch, set on walk, shows me “walking” past the end of the pier when I do my morning swim. You can see in the photo where the dock ends and the ‘walk’ continues!

The proverbial taking a long walk on a short pier.

We have a potential dangerous storm nearby, meandering unpredictability, Melissa is going to be a pain!

Have a Happy Hump Day!

Unpredictable

Theres a system to our south, not really moving, 90% chance of cyclone formation bit anybody’s guess as to which way she’ll head. Melissa is the next name on the list.

Could be fast action or hurry up and wait. We’ll see.

Have a great day!

Fosters 800 M – First Swim Of The Season

-It was a nice, long-seeming weekend. Saturday was the 41st Foster’s 800 Meter Sea Swim. I swam ok, same as my daily swims. I need to learn to push myself.

The swim was cancelled last weekend because of weather. It was perfect Saturday.

Went to some nice, excellent yoga classes both Saturday and Sunday

Needed to do yard work, didn’t. Needed to do laundry, did.

Now it’s back to work..
