I had a very lazy weekend. I napped a lot both Saturday and Sunday.
I did go to my secret spot for a cuppa coffee. And I did take Lenny to the beach and to a friend’s pool.
And I had landscapers come over and start to clean up the rocks in the yard, but it started raining so they’re coming back this week.
Now it’s another Monday and I’m headed off to work.

This Woman was minding her own business and was stabbed in the neck 3 times. She bled to death.
Tha assailant reportedly said “Got that white girl” as he walked away. Helluva motive for murder.
Well established criminal.
I did not ever imagine such evil could exist in this world. I’m very unsettled by this.
Yesterday and today have been good mornings. I’ve walked the dog, run a little swam a little and did a little yoga.. Pre dawn has been beautiful with flat flat flat calm sea, and light from an almost full moon.
I’ve lived in the Cayman Islands almost 30 years, and I’m still grateful to be here every day.

Alas, woe is me! Another Monday! I think we got shorted a day this weekend.
Friday I went to a memorial for an old friend, Graham. A long standing member of our recovery community
Saturday was a housecleaning day and Saturday evening I had a small group of friends come over for filet mignon and thick tuna steaks on the grill
Sunday was beach yoga and laundry and cleanup from the party.

I finished the older classic by Ray Bradbury Fahrenheit 451. It was quite good. Dystopian. (That’s a word I learned from Goodreads).
in this book, our future, the firemen don’t put out fires the fire hoses squirt kerosene and they burn the houses down when they find books inside the houses books are illegal. Our main character, a fireman named Montag, switches to the other side after he meets a woman who opens his eyes when he’s walking to work and apparently has been stashing books all the time. And then……
it is quite a good book, the only thing wrong with it is that it ended too soon.. I especially like the picture on the cover, the book / pack of matches. Quite clever!

I always thought that a Friends Quest on Duolingo was where you added friends. So now I have 999 friends on Duolingo and can’t add anymore.
Recently found out that a friend’s Quest is when you and a friend work together to complete 20 lessons.
Normally I don’t care, I do my one lesson a day and maintain my streak. But I happen to know that Christy works at the local hardware store. She’s the one who told me what her friends Quest is. So now it’s one chance and 999 that we are paired up in a friend’s quest, but I don’t want her to have to do all the work. So I’m going to try to do at least 10 lessons in the next 4 days..
