Never Getting Angry

Dick Van Dyke, the legendary American actor and comedian who starred in classics such as Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, turned 100 on December 13. The beloved actor credits his remarkable longevity to his positive outlook and never getting angry.

But how? Can it be true? I’ve come light years in my lifelong battle against anger. But I still get angry.

The article is very good. It refers to research from the 1930s thru 2022.

People who tend to have a more positive or optimistic outlook on life appear to be better at managing orĀ controlling their anger..

I’m a Dick Van Dyke fan, I saw Mary Poppins, and I saw Chitty Chitty bang bang in the theater, first run. I’ve also heard that Dick Van Dyke is a non a drinker, like me!

Have a great Wednesday!

Getting Sick

Headache, sore throat, coughing phlegm. Muscle aches and can’t sleep. I tried to take my temperature but I think my thermometer is broken.

i don’t need to get sick right now.

Really

Plesse Prove You’re Not A Robot

I like some of these. I posted a similar one before.

It’s Monday It was medium weekend on the scale. I’ve kind of been hovering on the edge of a cold all weekend.. I slept 12 hours Friday, will spend 12 hours in bed. I did some cleaning vacuuming. didn’t get much done

Now it’s back to work I feel very neutral right now..

Have a good week!

Something To Think About

Humans. Do we know what we’re doing? Something I read likened humans on earth to carnival goers, endlessly riding a ferris wheel, pulling bolts out of the structure without even wondering what the effect of their action will be.

But, as George Carlin said, the planet will be fine, it’s humans who are fukt.

Have a good weekend!

The Bird

The bird is sitting on her nest in the windowsill outside my bathroom window.. soon I will post a picture of some little chickies!

I don’t know if I mentioned that my lawn mower wouldn’t start last weekend, I got it fixed for $200, carburetor. The lawn mower only cost $350 new…. In the extra week that I didn’t know, my heart is now jungle ish. Guess what I’ll be doing this weekend?

Tomorrow is Friday ! Yeay,!

Two Blood Oranges

I found this blood orange water that I really liked. I went back and got it again, and look like a different can. I also noticed that it didn’t seem to taste as good as I remembered.

later I discovered that San Pellegrino has two waters, both of the flavor blood orange.

One has 1 gram of sugar, one has 29! Twenty -Nine!

I wonder which one tasted better? I’ll be buying the stripey can from now on.

Happy hump day!!

Consistently Early

I don’t know what I’m doing, but since I got back from the my eye surgery I’ve been ready to go to work earlier. Am I omitting something from my morning routine?

I don’t mind having the extra time, but I do wonder if I’m not doing something I used to.

Happy Tuesday

Monday DST & Weekend Recap

Daylight savings started in the US over the weekend. Seems early. Now I have to get used to THAT again..

It was a good weekend. Went out to dinner Friday, Saturday was a morning yoga class at Camana Bay and I missed the earlier one at Smith Cove. I wasn’t thinking properly and showed up late.

Saturday around lunch time, I tried to mow the yard I couldn’t get them over to start. I took the Lord to the repair place and dropped it off

Latet that afternoon was an 800 Meter sea swim, I came in 2nd of 3 in my age group.

Sunday, beach yoga then watched a movie at my GF’s place.

And now it’s time to go to work on a Monday.

Have a great week!

Becoming Reality

A thought is just a thought. It doesn’t exist in the tangible world. When a thought becomes action, it becomes real. Action like being written or said aloud to another or a physical action takes place.

Today is the day I will tell work that I am not renewing my contract and will be, for lack of a better word, retiring.

I’m both excited and nervous about this. (Someone once told me that excited and nervous are the same thing, not sure if I agree or not, but okay)

In a way, once I open my mouth, I’m doing something I can’t undo. I can’t take my words back. Nobody can unsay anything. I suppose I could change my mind, but I can’t see that happening!

Foreward is the way!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

temporal landmarks

Im reading an article HERE about why every year seems to get shorter and shorter. The article says we stop creating “temporal landmarks”, which are unusualalities in our daily routine.

It’s I’m interesting article, my theory is that our brain is like a computer drive. And it’s always full. When we’re 1-year-old that one year fills the entire brain. When we’re 50 years old those 50 years each get approximately 1/50th of the brain. Roughly speaking. And important year, I think may use more brain space than an uneventful year. And of course the brain doesn’t really divide it into years like that. I’m speaking roughly.

but the important events theory makes sense, in the idea that the daily routine creates unmemorable days that seem to have gone by more rapidly, makes sense too.

Interesting…

Have a Great day!
