When a baby has his or her one year birthday, they’ve actually completed their first year, and on the birthday start their second year.

So tomorrow, I start my 66th year on earth, . It’s a big birthday, because I officially retire from work and start collecting my pension.. if I continue working, as I plan on doing, at this time, I start off as a new employee with a new contract..

I have to keep reminding myself, I’m 65, not 66….65 not 66… TOMORROW, NOT TODAY!

I went to bed last night at 9:00, and woke up about 12:30. I laid there a while but was wide awake. Finally I decided to get up and I went out on the back porch. It was a beautiful night, very calm and clear with an almost full moon illuminating everything.. I who wrote in my journal and had a very pleasing experience writing and exercising two sleeps. I went back to sleep after about 45 minutes, I guess, and I felt like I slept quite well. Contrary to what my watch tells me.

it’s a rainy and thundery morning here. It’s also my first day back to work after my weeklong vacation. Today is the 8th of July, on the 11th of July my contract expires. We shall see what a new contract looks like.

it should be an interesting day at work, interesting as opposed to boring, which is preferable.

Today is Constitution Day, holiday here in Cayman.

Ive been mostly trying to wrap up my 30 hours of live zoom classes for my yoga teacher training, then all that will be left is the class sequencing assignment.

I wanted to be done by July 11th, cutting it close, if I make it at all.

Finally saw some deer yesterday. They’re supposedly “everywhere” but yesterday was the first I’ve seen on this trip. A whole flock of ’em’!

It’s been a good trip so far. Went out to dinner with an online yoga friend Zoom is one good thing that came from COVID. I love meeting old friends for the first time..

Tomorrow this the 4th. Mom and I are going to a parade in the morning., I don’t know if there are fireworks in the plan..my bedtime usually falls before the fireworks go up!

Went to visit my sister yesterday , overnighted at a hotel near her house.

This morning mom and I had breakfast at the hotel, then went back to our rooms.

Then my sister arrived and knocked at my mom’s door. No answer. Sister came to my room, I went and knocked on mom’s door, no answer. I knew she was up and wondered why there was no answer..

Fearimg the worst, I went and got the . manager of the hotel and we were getting ng ready to open mom’s door when she came out of the gym.

She was lifting weights. 90 years old, pumping iron…

Yesterday I spent time with Julia, and we went to her pool, where there was a “brunch club and a three piece band playing. Julia’s daughter is the head lifeguard there. I was always a lifeguard back in the day

After the first pool party, we went to the second pool party, at a private residence. (that’s the picture all the way at the top).

After that I visited my Brothers grave at the cemetery. And Travlin’ Tim.

I was a little upset that I couldn’t find my father’s grave.

On the way back to my mom’s, I stopped by the house I lived in when I was a senior in high school and where I departed for the Navy from. My Navy recruiter was probably parked about where I took the picture from when I came out and he took me to boot camp. It’s a day I won’t forget! I’d do it again in a heartbeat

It looks quite the same except the garage is added, we just had a carport.

Last evening , ai met with Julia again and said goodbye for now. She’s on her way to a 4th of July “camping” trip on Asateague Island. I think she had most of the contents of her house in her car, and she’s “camping” in a friend’s house down there… Where I used to go camping, we took a backpack and boots.

AND today my mother and I are headed down to see my sister in North Carolina. Road Trip!

Got here last night after dark. My first tike (I think) at Dulles Airport. Got my car and am at my mom’s

It’s a pretty nice car, for a Chevrolet.
