For the past several days we’ve had very strong winds and lower than normal temperatures.. I’m aware that there’s lower than normal temperatures practically all over our entire time zone. This weekend coming is supposed to be much colder than now, lows in the ’60s and highs in the ’70s. It’s very rare that we don’t have days in the ’80s.

I had an ophthalmologist appointment yesterday,. But they canceled it the last minute. My doctor had to perform an emergency surgery. I’m very eager for my next checkup. I want to see where my vision is on the eye chart, I want to see my field test.

Today I anticipate the arrival of my new washing machine.. Tomorrow is Friday!

Yesterday I purchased a new washing machine. It is to be delivered tomorrow.

I looked around The entire island, (all two places) and believe I got the best machine. I was going to replace the dryer too, but the old one works, (not very well) but usually I hang the stuff outside to dry.

I could live without the new dryer. But the washer has beed just a real P.O.S. out of the box new. . It took more time to get the door open after the wash and it did to do the wash. Dismantle the machine.

it’s been a rough couple of months financially. November, travel to the US for eye surgery. December, pay the pet sitter and the huge electric bill. January, return the deposit of the apartment tenant who moved out, and buy the new washing machine. In February I’m not spending any money.

I’m glad everything has worked out the way it has.

I think I’ve lived in this house for almost 20 years. Almost as soon as I moved in I had a leak in the kitchen ceiling from a conduit for the TV antenna cable. I plugged the conduit up with silicone sealer. And repair the damage in the kitchen ceiling.

Earlier this month, it leaked again. I had always intended to put a 115 Volt outlet up there, nobody uses TV antennas anymore..

at the same time,, to inspect the area where the conduit went through the concrete roof. You can see in the pictures above or cut a big hole out, did my inspection and installed my outlet. And closed it up. It still needs to be painted.

Downstairs, I’ve been working on the damaged ceiling. I’m not done yet, but .

you can see before and after. I still have some more plaster work to do, and I need to spray on the orange peel.

But now I believe my roof will never leak again. (In that same spot)

Took me 20 years, but I finally got it done.

Today is a holiday here, Hero’s Day. Thankful for the long weekend.

I realize this morning that thinking about retiring makes me feel calm and peaceful, thinking about going back to work fills me with stress.

this morning I called in sick . I ordered a Domino’s Pizza and then I was “sick” all night in one way and “sick” in another this morning.

Monday is a holiday here, so I have a long long weekend. Have a good one!

Mostly testing to see if I can upload images again. Seems so. Yeah! 3 more British Pounds per month, billed with my regular fees.,

My Friend who had eye surgery said the doctor was shocked at how poor his vision was. Although I think mine is better after the surgery, I wonder how good it is compared to how good it’s supposed to be.

Sometimes I feel like it’s improving and sometimes I wonder. I still can’t read easily through that eye, things are still distorted, but nothing like it was before the surgery. I’ve been told it takes 6 months to a year to finish healing.

My next check up his next week or the week after. I’m looking forward to it to get a reference point.

As part of my “get better sleep,” instructions, I’m not supposed to look at the clock and check the time all night while I’m supposedly sleeping.

Last night I was laying there waiting for the alarm to go off, not knowing if it was midnight or two or four. I was thinking it didn’t really matter because I know it’s going to happen when the alarm goes off. I know what the day is going to be like.

I feel like something’s different inside me since the eye surgery. That 6 weeks did something. I don’t know what. I don’t really care about work, I don’t really care about this house, I don’t really care about anything going on in my life. I don’t know what I want to do, but I feel like I should do something.

My roof leaked, I have to get that fixed, the guys coming tonight. I need a new washer and dryer. I went to look yesterday, deciding between two sets, but I think I better wait to see how much the roof is going to cost. And I need to clean this house.

But right now I’m going to work. Have a great day!

We were robbed of a weekend day last weekend. Sunday it rained all day. And my roof leaked. Now I gotta get that fixed.. (I had a leak in the same place right after I moved into this house)

Now I’m headed to work on what will probably be a sunny, beautiful day.

Tiday should be a day off to make up for yesterday , I think!

The BBC radio this morning said Canada is working on a trade deal with China. That’s funny!

That’s what you’re supposed to do. That’s the purpose of tariffs. When your source becomes too expensive, you find a new source.

in the USA, almost everything you see, you pick up or examine will say “made in China” on it. When I was in Mexico, it did not say “made in China”, it said different places for example the silverware was made in Brazil.

I think American companies, when their supplier has a tariff and their price of supplies goes up, they will simply pass their increased expense on to their customers. The companies in the US are completely missing the point. The purpose is to find a new source of supplies. That way you take care of your customers
