Thursday Monday

Yesterday was a holiday here, Ash Wednesday. It was a day off work.. I slept relatively late, took a couple naps, and did a partial island tour with my guests. In the evening I had a small get together featuring pasta and salad.. It was a much needed quiet restful day.

below or a couple pictures of Lenny, the world famous dog

No, he’s not smoking a cigar, it’s a chewy dog treat.

So now I’m headed off to work, and it feels like a Monday. I guess I’ll be in for a pleasant surprise when I finally realize it tomorrow is Friday!

Adios for now!

Havent Been Around In A While

I have visitors visiting from Ohio. Yesterday afternoon we did a Western edge of the island tour. We went to all the tourist spots. Things that seem to have changed a lot since the last time I went to some of these beaches and restaurants.

ΓΈ;

we went to Fish Fry, which used to be open only on Wednesdays and weekends. Well it’s open 7 days apparently with glass plates and metal silverware.

where you went to Smith Cove, It hadn’t been that long since I was there, but there were new showers installed out of nowhere.

Everything is being developed and developed and developed, for old stuff is disappearing..

Tomorrow is a holiday here, Ash Wednesday. It is also the day of the agriculture show. A huge event, the guests may want to go….

Have a great day!

What I Learned

This weekend I learned that if I ever felt the need to rent a 32 ft extension ladder, then I should just hire somebody to do the job that I think I want the ladder for. The ladder, by itself is unmanageable, let alone the job I wanted to do. (And got done)

This weekend, I did some repairs to my roof. Now I’m waiting for the next rain to make sure there’s no leaks. I do have more inspections to do up there on the roof though however, and there’s some painting that needs to be done.

My North Dakota visitor left the 13th, and I had some Ohio visitors arrive yesterday. Quite a busy month, visitor-wise.

Happy Monday! Have a great week!

0pthamologist Today

today I have an appointment at the ophthalmologist. It is my first appointment since December. I’m very eager to see how my eyes doing and how the macular looks in the picture.

Alao, it’s Friday the 13th, historically my lucky day.

high visitor from North Dakota leaves today, and day after tomorrow I have visitors from Ohio moving into the apartment.

Happy Friday and have a good weekend!!

Broken Boox

Indropped my Boox Color Note 4C day before yesterday and later discovered that the one and only moving part, the power button was broken.

So far, this isn’t it problem because opening and closing the cover turns it on and off. Eventually, One may need to press and hold the power button to do a reset or restart.

I think someday this may become a problem.

Ill one day at a time it till then…

Have a great day!

Square Month

Its February 11th already. Every month, every year, goes faster and faster.

This February is a perfect month. Started on a Sunday, ends on a Saturday. Exactly 4 weeks long.

A perfect square month. It doesn’t happen too often.

Im trying to get over or not get a cold, not sure which. I have a deep cough on the border between my throat and my lungs. Not too miserable but definitely, definitely present.

I hope you don’t get this cold and that you have a great day!

What Is Love?

I was driving to work, dreading it. It occurred to me that at work, I won’t see anyone I love.

Then I thought “Who do I love?” The immediate answer is “nobody”. I’m not married, no wife, no kids, no really close friends, hated my parents growing up..

Then I thought “what is love?” There’s different versions of love I think. I love my yoga teachers, co-yogis and my few students.

Is there casual love and serious love? It is definitely not appropriate to tell my teachers and students I love them, and I don’t think their definition of love is the same as mine. I don’t think any of my teachers or students would say they love me.

I started yoga when I was 60 years old. Since then, I’ve felt like my life has been on the wrong path since it began. I wish I’d have discovered yoga and meditation decades earlier.

Yoga, and the people of yoga, give me a feeling that I’ve never felt before. And I can think of only one word that describes it.

I’m retiring soon, looking at the next stage of my life. I’m torn between hope that it’s not too late for my life to start, hope that there’s a place for me there, and the regret of a wasted past.

Roundup 2026

this past weekend was the 17th annual Cayman Islands Roundup. Has always, I provided the sound system and recorded the audio and edited it.

I hopefully have the leaking my roof fixed. I had a professional come take a look. There’s another potential leak that I want to fix as well. A rotten rubber sleeve in the plumbing of ventilation pipes in both cases. Not to mention my conduit PVC for the TV antenna which was my original thought..

0 today it’s back to work. Have a wonderful week!
