I’ve talked before about giving up coffee. It makes my teeth stained. I really dislike it. On the flip side, I love my coffee in the morning. It is one of the things I look forward to most.

What is a morning alternative to coffee?

today is my last vacation day, Tomorrow I go back to work. I have 12 working days between now and my retirement.

Above is my poinciana tree from my back porch.. It’s actually two tres, planted in the same hole when they were as big around as my little finger. Beautiful in the summer, but messy with tiny leaves and big old long seeds.

Trees used to be unchanging , now, as I got older and time goes faster, trees seem to grow before my eyes..

Its not Everest. Everest may be highest above sea level, but it’s not the highest. The highest mountain, the furthest from the center of the earth and the closest to outer space is In the depths of Ecuador, a beautiful volcano named Chimborazo. Read the article HERE. It’s because of the Earth’s equatorial bulge from spinning so fast.

I don’t think Everest is even the biggest mountain period. I think I read that the big island of Hawaii, if measured from the ocean floor to peak is bigger than Everest. But I haven’t re-researched that this morning.

But anyway, the bottom line is, Everest ain’t nuthin’!

I didn’t swim the Flowers Mile Swim this year. I didn’t enjoy the last 2 years. It wasn’t the swim, it was the setup. My towel and sunglasses and car and keys are at one end, I’m at the finish with no towel, sunglasses or hat It’s salty and crusty and hot and there’s nothing to drink. All my money is back at the start too. They have all these sponsors and politicians torturously making speeches before the awards ceremony

The t-shirt sucka, some kind of plastic recycled non wearable “thing” and as soon as you exit the water, you “go thru the chutes”, like cattle.

a couple years ago I tried to park at the finish, and walk back to the start before the race and ended up with huge blisters on my feet. Last year, I left after the race and didn’t wait for the awards ceremony.

I’ll probably swim next year though…

Im painting again today. I didn’t yesterday. I need to run to the store and get more rollers and brushes.

I’m wearing coveralls that I was issued when my second ship was in the drydock. They have been very handy over the years.

This isn’t how I planned on spending my last vacation, But I’m glad I have the time to do the work.

today is a holiday here in the Cayman Islands,, The King’s birthday. Starting tomorrow I’m on vacation for 6 days. I will be working on my roof.

here’s a photo from yesterday. A man was sitting on the dock when I went for my swim. Meditating I’m sure. Also I noticed that there’s all new boards on the dock. Very nice.

Apparenrly yesterday was Global Wellness Day. My watch face me an award for my normal morning walk swim run yoga…

This morning I’m taking a yoga class from 8:30-9:30, then diving at 10. Lhen burgers for lunch. Then hopefully I won’t be too tired to continue my roof painting project.
